Shouts out to everyone from Lisbon, Portugal! It's been a really good week, a bit long at times with so many tours but the people have been great. Monday through Friday we had a variety of school groups, some from American schools, some only knowing a little bit of English but with the interpreters it was a great experience for everyone. They asked some good questions, a lot of the same ones I asked when I first got introduced to Amistad.
We had two day-sails, which went well, first one I got to be in the small boat and see the Amistad in action! Our second sail was with an group of students from Muslim and Jewish faith, they helped us set and pass the sails and it looked like they were actually enjoying it, though some of them said it would be too much work on a daily basis.
Tomorrow we are leaving to Lagos; it should be very interesting considering that it was the first place where African captives were brought to in Portugal. It is also suppose to be very beautiful, which doesn't surprise me. What I've seen of Portugal is amazing. It will be nice to stay a night away from the boat, sleep in a real bed and no soles and bowls in the morning! Well it's time to get some sleep before our big day tomorrow, I'll make sure to write soon so I can fill you all in on the awesome adventures of Lagos! Adeus!
