Hello everyone, sorry my blogs have been a bit scarce lately but I got a little excited being in another foreign country, but here I am! Portugal is really pretty and we have a great view from here at the marina, right a crossed the harbor into the town of Cascais.
They have beautiful buildings, beaches and streets, which are made of really pretty blue and white tiles in lots of different patterns as you walk down the narrow roads.
Since we've been docked we've had time for schoolwork, along with giving the Amistad a bit of T.L.C, shinning her up for tours in Lisbon next week. Captain Steve and Skyler left the other day, it was sad to say goodbye, but they both taught me lots and I am sure going to miss them. Before their departure Skyler passed down his flag officer Duties to me, showing me the ropes of the job. Captain Steve said I've got some big shoes to fill, but don't worry Skyler I'll do my best!
So I got switch to B watch with Mike and today we are on watch all day long which is not too bad. I'm sitting on deck, watching Mike show me his painting skills on one of the deck boxes, he thinks he might have been an artist in a past life, well that or a shoes maker, ha ha. The weather is spectacular, not too hot not to windy and we've had a few people around asking about our beautiful boat.
Met some really nice people around the Marina, one day in particular while wearing my Shelburne Yacht Club T-Shirt I was stopped by a man who had sailed into Shelburne Harbor 2 years ago and had some family a the south end of the Province, it really is a small world! Well that's about it for now! Wish everyone could see this place, but I'll make sure to take lots of pictures! I'm out.
