Sankofa student Haley Cox smiles through two days of miserable weather.Hey it's Haley! Been a wee bit since I have last written, so I have much to say! It's been quite the trip from London. The weather wasn't as great as it had been early in our trip... actually it was quite a change, and I was sick for most of it. It was really tough, being sick on watch and trying to keep up with my schoolwork. I was so glad to finally stop for a bit and catch my breath in Falmouth. Falmouth is a really nice town and it was great to walk on land and look around.

So today we fueled up and got on our way, down to Portugal I am so excited to get to warmer weather. England has been great but I can't wait to see a different country. Only thing in between warmer Portugal and me is the Bay of Biscay. I've heard some stories about that place, and with my last week's dealings with seasickness I can't lie, I am quite nervous. But everyone one on the boat has been great and even if I do get sick it won't last forever.
We had a switch in 3rd mates while in London, My watch leader Kent Cassels switched with Hannah Grey and left the boat. Hannah has been great and watches are good, even though a couple of us were sick for most of the way down to Falmouth. But we are missing Kent and the boat is not the same without him!
Well, I just finished a great dinner of lamb, which our new cook Heather prepared and I am off to get a little sleep before my watch at 11 pm. Hope to write more soon! Wish me luck on the Bay of Biscay!
