While watching this movie I was surprised by many of the things going on. I thought it was crazy the way people's families want to just block out the fact that they roots had a hand in slave trading. To me some of the family's actually sound like they were proud that their family gained some wealth in this kind of business. My eyes popped out my head when the narrator said her family had a rule never to talk about certain situations, and when she said Negroes was one of those things not to discuss which shocked me. I felt that many of the family members were trying to be ignorant to the fact that their roots gained wealth off the enslavement of other human beings.
