British Parliament House E-mail

It is of such importance to have documents in which we can visualize and fully understand the abolition of the slave trade. We went to the British Parliament House and viewed the exhibit, “The British Slave Trade; Abolition Parliament and People.” It gave an overview of what was going on during the time of the Slave trade.  At the time though there were many people trying to abolish the trade, there were also people trying to keep it ongoing. Britain was able to become a dominant power in the Atlantic trade in the capture of Africans.   The trade was abolished in England in 1807 and many countries followed soon after. Even though the slave trade was abolished that did not stop the mistreatment of Africans.  So, as a result even though the trade and slavery has been abolished to this present day there are many forms of slavery; meaning the mistreatment of human beings.
