While going through some old menus from last year I found some thoughts I was having then…. what a difference a year makes…. so I thought I would share them with you…July 16, 2006-Sunday before we leave for Nova Scotia…so its time to start the book as I sit in Old Mystic Towne at the thing-a-bob…it is my day off after my working marathon and personal adventures which I am totally responsible for…I believe mini-pause is creeping up mood swings and such or just living on board with 10 other people most I have shoes and articles of clothing that is older and sometimes cleverer….where did the time go….well this beginning of what has turned into a historical once in a life time adventure…the crew continues to evolve and shine and most of all I grow and hope I shine as well…

This past Sunday I got some time off…I attended a SGI-UK (world peace Buddhist prayer) kofu-gongyo…and then took the train to Bath…it was great playing tourist and visiting the spectacular Roman Baths…we all enjoyed ourselves in Bristol…which is chocked full of history…thou some may not want to acknowledge the history only by confronting the past can we transform the present and the future…and not repeat the same mistakes…so my thanks to Marion in Liverpool who I forgot to thank…Catherine, Nada, Sahpfra, Asif, Grime, Toy,  Jackie ( I wrote the letter, thanks for reminding me) Bob, Nikki, Zoë, Val, Paul at ASDA who help Donna and I with our six trolley’s of provisions what a kind and the  wonderful group of people and the youth hostel personnel thank you for all of your help and all the people of Bristol for your warmth, help, and graciousness and for all of those who came aboard the Amistad and stopped to have those conversations and brought your children to further educate them…I also saw the pride that the students are taking in telling the story and the up keep of the Amistad….and that does the heart good…

So on to what the crew and students have been eating…. corned beef hash, with eggs to order, fresh strawberries and raspberries- beef taco’s, 7-layer dip with chips, salsa, Spanish rice noodles, flour tortillas-roasted chix breast, sautéed bok choy, roasted potatoes-french toast, irish sausages, pineapple, passion fruit, kiwi, -chicken mushroom quiche, salad, white bean veggie soup, -pulled pork, English mixed greens, sweet potatoes, corn muffins, -bull’s-eyes, sausages, charental melon, -on deck lunch –bar-b-qued pork sammies, cole slaw, chips, pears, apples,-pasta, meatsauce, roaste mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, onions, tossed salad with fresh mozzarella home made bread with garlic butter.-scramble cheesy eggs, bacon, croissants, pizza, salad, watermelon, pan fried trout, baked squash, asparagus with hollandaise, coconut rice, bread, fresh mint tea….oops I woke of late, scrambled salsa eggs, oatmeal, sausages, fresh fruit bowl,-cracky the breads gone moldy….cheese, ham, avocado, tomato quesadilla (or as molly has named them wonderful thingy’s)-  asian baked chicken thighs, mixed veggies, egg noodles, coconut butternut squash…

So there you have it…. as we sail along a beautiful sunny day, crew is sanding and I am enjoy the calm water and lovely breezes…. thanks Donna for all of your help enjoy your time off…. see you in Portugal

Until later
Bon appetite
