A New Life in Liverpool E-mail

While walking Liverpool I experienced something I call “new life.” Learning about things that you would not think of as history brings you new life, especially when it makes you see things in a whole new perspective. Our guide Eric showed us historical buildings that had different symbols that symbolized different elements of slavery.  If you were just walking by you probably would have never noticed any of it. For example, on most of the buildings there were slave ships on each of them which was really interesting to me. People do not really see that there is so much history around them, but then again they probably do not care enough to want to know. On our walking tour we also saw where the ships docked to fill up with supplies at the Albert Docks. The tour was a very good experience.  If I could do it again, I would because I feel like these are things I could take back home and share the knowledge and wisdom he passed on to us. Knowledge and wisdom is a beautiful thing to have especially when you can pass it on to others.
