Today was an okay day. My watch was on later on in the day. The sky was completely gray, and the wind was almost none existent. It was really eerie on the Atlantic because there was barely any noise; I’m used to hearing the wind blowing or motoring or some type of clamoring. To hear nothing at all is creepy. I tried to spook people, or at least get the most of it by humming the tune from “Jaws”; it is the part when the shark is just about to get you. My favorite part of watch was when I got to do some marine biology. The captain and I did a ‘plankton tow’ where we gathered a sample of plankton in a bottle to send off to NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. That was so cool for me.
