Good morning my dears I hope you are all well and rested unlike a certain person who is typing this entry today. This morning about 6am the fire alarm went off because of Dani’s morning cooking, which got us all out in the freezing cold wind and seawater coming over the side of the ship.

I was awake before that already thanks to B watch cleaning out the focsle and making a lot of noise, at least the star balloons (C watch) had the decency to be quiet when we did it yesterday morning, but I really could not sleep to be honest through the night, my back with the burn is still a contribution and the stuffiness off the Focsle adds to it too but mainly I think it was the creaking sounds coming from the forward mast which is loud and annoying.

Any way all that aside this morning has been ok for the most part, I had a light breakfast of cornflakes (my favorite) and just then myself and Newman were plotting both the ship’s dead reckoning and GPS positions. I must say that my confidence In the whole navigation department has increased a lot since I first boarded and its all preparation for when we start taking over the watches which I still cant wait for! (Should be so much fun) Also I think that I’m getting a little home sick, for since this morning I have been playing all my music collection through my head plus everyone I know has been invading my dreams lately which I hope is a good omen like. But yesterday we picked up a lot of speed traveling at 7kts, which is a fantastic speed for us (thanks be to Poseidon for the waves) rite now we are going at 6.1kts which is also a brilliant speed for Amistad with our top speed being 12. I know you may think that is nothing with the Queen Mary the other day speeding along at 23kts but for a sailing boat like this it is, or at least I think, so there.
