Every day on the Amistad, the students and crew have class at 2:30pm (1430). We also have a ship’s report everyday. Today my watch did the ship’s report, Imogen and B- watch did a presentation on a section of the “Bury the Chains” book, and I gave a presentation on how the water-maker on the Amistad works.

I worked with Ben, the engineer, to get the information. Everyone really liked my presentation. I was very happy about that. So far, I have done 3 presentations for the crew, and each time I get better and rely less on my notes. I have also done multiple vocal performances onboard. I think that has really helped improve my stage presence and comfort level on being in front of a crowd. It also helps that I know everyone in the ‘audience’, and I know that they are all supportive of me and really don’t want to see me do a lousy job. The water-maker is a fascinating system and I am glad to know how it works.
