Hello my dear today is the 22 and the 9th day of our crossing. Like always I am on watch and don’t finish till seven pm. The start of my day was a particular lazy one which is a rare thing that happens every third day, (I got to sleep in till 1pm though Hannah wanted to have a meeting at 1130) It was a fantastic long sleep that I had and that I cherish since sleep is an important thing to maintain our selves and it helps to prevent sea sickness. Which I do not want to experience again! Our little C watch meeting was a fun group activity to do, we all talked on what works and what doesn’t. What we would want to improve on and what we should tackle as a group. Also we was informed (more reminded) that in the next two weeks we the students will be given the opportunity to take more important roles and effectively run the ship! I must say that the prospect of this idea is very appealing to me thought I am confused on how it would work. Ok scrub that last thought iv just ask Eliza (our fantastic captain) and she said that we will take charge in our watches at first, then depending on conditions they will set tasks for the students to do as a crew I’m guessing. The whole idea sounds fantastic and I’m just wondering how long it will last for.
Also we had class which I haven’t really been talking about much though I should really because we do talk about and learn both interesting and important facts. But today was just the presentation that Tim and myself had to give on our part of Bury the Chains, which I thought was ok at best. I gave a lot of information on the chapters that I remembered most and I’m proud of what I conveyed to the rest of the crew. Plus Tim’s thoughts were brilliant and well presented which I kind of got but need more work on (but I’m no public speaker I can tell you that!) My goal for the book now is too finish my part and maybe read some more of the book to which I recommend to anyone. One last thing he title of today’s entry has to do with Tim’s and mine book report and that fact I have sun BURN on my shoulders (can we say OUCH!) I got it kind of yesterday and only felt it this morning during my 11-3 watch and may I just say how much it hurt. Which now its kind of stinging but is going away which I’m glad for because its kind difficult to Haul on lines when the top half of my back is saying ‘oh no that want happen with out this!’ You know if shoulders could talk…and with that my dears I’m off to do the things I do best like steer our fine ship and wow I have typed a lot again. See you next time TA TA. Comments
