Hello again! Today is the 4th day of our Atlantic crossing, and may I just say how quick it is passing me by? I must say though that the thought of going back to “merry old England” (as many of the American crew say) is a brilliant thought especially by the mode of transport that I’m currently on (a ship in case you forgot) Up till now I have really enjoyed my time with the whole program, I’ve met interesting people and been to places I’d probably never go and I have learned a lot since my time both on the ship and in Mystic. The sights have also been a fantastic experience like an hour ago form now which is 06:38 the mighty C watch and our fantastic captain saw two dolphins off the port side. That with whales, the milky way, a shooting star and the brilliant sun sets I have seen really make this whole experience worth while, In that sense at least. Which also brings me back to what I have learned thus far, since the whole point of this trip is to learn about slavery and how it affected the world. I for one can say I know partially what impact it has had on today’s society and I know a lot of the history concerning the trans-Atlantic slavery. In all I’m proud of what I am doing and the message of hope that we are carrying for those in desperate need for that message of freedom. But also I am proud to teach people just a little bit more about slavery and the Amistad story. Comments
