The quietness of dawn watch at anchor in Sambro Harbour. The silhouette of trees lining a sleepy town that I only know from a distance. Various shades of greens and blues fame rocks and jewels of lights, waiting for the moon and coming sun to notice them. A few birds have started their day, flight and song providing background melody to fill the space of other music that often separates us from our surroundings. We washed dishes tonight to the prose of Frederick Douglass and I was reminded that things will return to simplicity and routines. We will pause just long enough during our work to rely on each other, create our own entertainment and form our story together.
