Arriving to Martha's Vineyard E-mail
Written by Sarah Renée - Deckhand ('08)

We finally made it to Martha’s Vineyard with a few stops in between to places such as Salem, P-Town, and the Captain’s cottage on Baker’s Island. It’s been less than a month since I was here last time after completing a delivery from Halifax, Nova Scotia aboard the schooner ALABAMA. Since I had the day off today I went over to where she was docked and said hi to my old crew. They were pretty surprised to see me since I had said I was taking a month off to relax in Nova Scotia. But it’s hard to stay away from these boats. I spent the rest of the day wandering around the town checking out the art supply store – hoping to start painting again -, finding the local bagel shop, and having my nose re-pierced. Now I’m just enjoying some downtime before a weekend of day-sailing.
