Saturday, June 7th was a truly historic day. Amistad crew members from Sierra Leone, who joined the Freedom Schooner in that nation's capital, are in Connecticut this month before departing for home. Their sojourn here is highly significant, because Sierra Leone is the original home of the Amistad captives.   Today, the crew members were in the audience during the celebration marking the 200th anniversary of the Connecticut Supreme Court. A featured speaker at the event, Justice Flemming L. Norcott, Jr., shared the history of the Amistad case.
