I have quickly realized that being aboard Amistad I have gained a great work ethic. It’s not like the usual effort I put in when my mom would leave me a list of chores to do (Sorry, Mom!), but I try and put a 100% effort into every job I do, knowing that I won’t be able to get out of it, and why waste time trying to get out of it when you're not going to succeed. Aboard, I have had the pleasure in using the life lesson that I have heard from my parents for many years, “Might as well do it right the first time because if not, you're just making more work for yourself.”
I can now say I have applied this theory and it works amazingly well. Who would have thought I would admit to this after so many years of trying to deny it! It might be hard to believe, but most of the time I actually enjoy doing soles and bowls (cleaning floors and toilets), or projects like sanding for example, just because it’s a change to the regular day and night watch duties: standing bow watch, boat checks, or being on the helm. Hopefully, this is be something I will take back home, knowing that I can also apply it to my everyday life there as well.

I have been enjoying all over your blogs and miss you greatly. I spent the day in Halifax the the museum of the atlantic with Haley. When I heard your voice I started to cry..right then I knew how proud i am of you and how much I miss you.
It sounds as though things are going great and you are having a wonderful trip. You know hard work builds character and never hurt anyone.. so keep up the good job.
Uncle Billy is home to help Grandad with the building of the long boats for the LL08 summmer activities. I havent been to the shop to witness any of the goings on but they tell me it can be very entertaining at the mill as your grandfather tries to teach some of the guys how to build this boat.
Owen and Michelle are here for another week. Michelle got your birthday message.mom and Yvonne are in Halifax for the weekend so I look forward to haering about there trip.
