What’s up Bermuda? Just to say hi to my work mate at Marine and Port, M.A.B.Sport Club, Liz Clark class in NJ and my mother and farther whom I love. We are at Lat 014 22’W Lon 32 02 N at this time doing about 2 and half knots. We have still got about 1700 nm to go, but the weather is great. I am proud to be part of this history moment as a Bermudian because the journey we are taking is the same as the Portuguese slave ship Tecora that was a human cargo ship that carried some 300-500 African in April of 1839. This voyage has been named middle passage of the triangular slave trade system. The Amistad is reversing the triangle .We in Bermuda had a ship HMS Driver that was built at Tyesbay out of Bermuda cedar that did this similar voyage around Aug 13th 1822 to Aug 30th 1822 and I have a copy of the log. To follow this history journey and to continue on with this trip follow www.amistadamerica.org. Got to go now, get back to my watch. Love Bermuda.
