Bondia…it has been a week since we sailed from Cidade Velha the Old City of Santiago…how time passes so quickly…I will miss the warmth and charm of all the wonderful people that we had the good fortune to come into contact with…I think especially all of the young children who came aboard…learning to count and sing in Mende…it was as much of a treat for them as it was for us…

It is with mixed emotions I am sailing the waters that my ancestors traveled against their will…in the evenings I gaze at the stars and wonder if they saw the same ones so long ago…sometimes when I glance into the water I can see images and feel their presence…what messages will I have to bring when I return to the states…how will I have grown …what issues will be important in my life…will I be a better person…will I be more outspoken (I pretty much speak my mind now so watch out)…as I have said before this is an adventure of a life time…

We have a very diverse crew…with two new crewmembers from Cape Verde…so we are representing ancestors from all over the globe…

So here are the menus for the last week –Sunday breakfast-Bengineer scrambled eggs and toast, juice, milk, cereal…lunch-ground nut pork, bar-b-qued pork, salad and home made rolls, ice tea…dinner- baked salmon, sautéed veggies, saffron rice, mix green salad, ice tea

Thursday-breakfast-german pancakes, maple syrup, assorted jams, cereal, milk…lunch-meat and veggie calzones, cole slaw, pasta salad, ice tea…dinner-meat loaf, veggie nut loaf, corn pudding, mashed potatoes, ice tea

Friday-breakfast-scrambled eggs, chorizo, biscuits, jams, cereal, milk…lunch-meatloaf casserole, greens, orangeade. dinner- bake pumpkin squash, langoustine, pasta with pesto cream sauce, challah, ice tea.

Saturday-breakfast-slice papaya, chocolate  coffee cake, cereal, milk juice…lunch-cold cuts, focaccio, pumpkin coconut soup, lettuce, tomato, onion, cukes, ice tea…dinner-chicken creole, rice, chick pea salad…

Sunday-breakfast-french toast, chorizo, fruit juice, cereal, milk…lunch-left overs, chicken creole, calzones, rice, chick pea salad…dinner-baked yams, peas, sesame encrusted fish, potato bread…

I am great and loving every moment of discovery….love to my nuggets large and small…Ceade Mile Faitle to Don and Marion have a wonderful St. Paddy’s day…I am there in  spirit…
