De dowdy fine…I love that greeting…well getting back into the swing of things…we have a small crew…Eliza, Ben, Logan, Joy, Toby, Johnny, me, and Alva is scheduled to arrive shortly…yesterday was market day for me…I went with Sia and Paul and we had a wonderful driver Mohammed… there is so much humanity here that it is hard to take in all the sights, sounds, smells….the women carrying everything on their heads and moving at warp speed and nothing  spilling or toppling over…there is also a haze that engulfs the city with all of the burning of rubbish and cooking…everyone is in business of some kind….women with baskets of charcoal on their heads and baby wrapped around her back…men and women both with bundles of wood, plastic chairs stacked 6 to 7 high…it is something to see…the market is amazing women coming up to you with their fresh produce…please buy mine madame…there is so much to choose from but there are some things we cannot buy…things that can be washed, scrubbed, cooked and pealed…it was great that I had Sia with me to haggle the price…it was a blast that is so much to see….

Here  I am in the land of my ancestors…I am still trying to wrap my brain around all of this …as a black woman…what this impact has on me and the way I will forever view life and all that has happen and to happen…I have thought a great deal about the reason’s behind slavery and the impact it continues to have on every person on this little blue planet…

Tomorrow we will be going to Bunce Island which was a slave castle that has some history…I wonder about the flood of emotions is will feel….
