Where does the time go…it seems like it was just September…I had a wonderful time off…I did some sightseeing in London…but sadly didn’t make it to Scotland…next time…I went to Hawaii where my daughter got married, spent Thanksgiving with long time family friends…came back to Orlando where I spent the holidays with the family resting and having a great time… catered my daughter and son-in-laws wedding reception…she and I cooked Christmas dinner together that was priceless and fun…we as brought New Year’s in with fireworks, friends and champagne…I watch my grandsons grow before my very eyes…I am a very fortunate women…

So Sunday, January 27, at 12:35pm I left Orlando, there was JFK where I met up 7 other crew, trustee, captains, Eliza and Bill…we took Air India to Heathrow from there we went to Gatwick where we took Astraeus to Monrovia and then to Freetown…from the airport was a bus to the ferry…now that was an adventure all its own especially watching the cars turn around so they could drive off the ferry…and the bus turning around and driving down the steep incline…this is definitely on of those you had to have been there…after a small boat ride Tuesday January 29th at 2:00am I arrived home and returned to the Amistad…the feeling of returning to the home of my ancestors is something I can’t put into words just yet…the people I have met have such a warm an open heart…I love the greeting “how de body” de body is overjoyed…

Getting back into the swing of things…checking out the provisions and creating…I love that…and shopping is going to be new and exciting…so for the first meal I did dinner Tuesday night…from the freezer I found Wahoo and Marlin steaks which I marinated, an Drew bar-b-qued them…I did sautéed spinach and mushrooms, 6 loaves of homemade bread and rice cakes…breakfast Wednesday was individual cheese and salsa omelets, chicken sausages, toast, jams, slices oranges, yogurt and cereal…for lunch cheese and spinach quiche, fish taco’s, garbanzo bean salad, ice cold watermelon slices, Ice tea…dinner was black-eyed peas, corn pudding, left over quiche, baked whole chicken, homemade bread, ice tea and juice….for breakfast this morning strawberry pancakes, yogurt, juice, orange slices…it is great to be back …and I look forward to sharing the up coming adventures…Mahalo Heather for all of your hard work and taking great care of my Amistad Ohana…
