Dear Amistad,
I am very interesrted in crossing the Atlantic, West to East, with you...; next year (2009), obviously. Will you do the voyage? I have done the Canary Islands - Barbedos in November/December 2006; on a 45' Sailboat, with 3 other friends of mine. Now I want to do it oposite direction..., at to Azores, or Azores - Europe shore. Please reply accordingly. Thanks greatly, Tony Meznaric 26 Birchcroft Rd. TORONTO, ON M9A 2L4 416/239-7479 905/670-1025 Ext. 222 (or 1800 263 7016)

Welcome to St. Croix! I am a middle school teacher here on the island. My students of Caribbean History are currently studying the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Last week we watched scenes from the movie Amistad, so you can imagine my delight when I picked up the paper to see that you were in Christiansted Harbor! Would it be possible to have a class of 28 students visit the Amistad for a feild trip? If that is not possible then how about just one teacher?
Thank you!

Welcome to St. Croix! I see Amistad anchored in Gallows Bay today, a beautiful harbor. The last time I saw this wonderful ship was in Key West 4-5 years ago. If you come ashore, please enjoy our unique boardwalk. Christiansted is not a tourist town like Key West, but it has some of the most lovely nooks & crannies you could ever hope to explore. Have a great stay!
