Yesterday afternoon and last night was a grand sailing time, with a good easterly wind pushing us across the Bay of Biscay. That ended at dawn this morning, when a rain squall came through, causing us to quickly lower the mainsail.
The squall was the harbinger of a weather front, and on the other side we found clear sky, warmer air, and the wind out of the south, which is on the nose for us.
So now we're bucketing around in a leftover sea, running one engine slow and sailing as close to the wind as we can lie. Eventually this weather system will pass, and with good luck we'll have a fair wind.
