Breakfast Dishes E-mail

As the breakfast dishes are being washed, I get to take a few minutes to share. Our week long voyage to Lisbon, Portugal is complete. Our late night arrival was missed by many of us- we couldn't keep our eyes open. The day had been hazy toward shore, but clear over us most of the day.
We were visited by terns and gulls, many strange sideways swimming fish that jumped in succession and an assortment of pleasure-craft out for days spin. The day was spent watching the coast trail past and rocking with the rollers. I've been baking French bread most days. It's surprising how well it's turned out, the humidity, the stove-Pele or the method, who knows? Folks like the biscuits as well, either sweet or savory.
To celebrate our last night at sea with Capt. Steve, I made a special big dinner of roast pork, mashed potatoes- mashed by Dustin, thank you- spinach, green beans, bread and limeade. The Amistad's no scurvy vessel!
Today we'll look to arriving formally in country and setting foot on land, although much of me is torn. I do dearly love life at sea. The organization, the comraderie, the fellowship the challenge, the fun, the simple life. Even the routine is comforting. Love to you all.
