I had a great shower today in Falmouth. It was the first time I had seen myself in a mirror for weeks, and it was good to know I didn't have too many bruises. Honorable mention for the burn I received from the galley stove. I was relief cook for 3 days - what pressure to get the food out on time! The crew was very supportive. I felt better today after being in pain from straining something in my chest area, reaching into the reefer while the ship was tossing and bobbing around. It was good to get back to deckhand work yesterday, and the hot shower helped with the pain. Another highlight was that I purchased a piano keyboard today in Falmouth, and it was great to hear others playing it on Amistad (it runs on batteries). (I went into the store for a CD player, came out with a keyboard.) We have a lot of musical talent on board, so I am hoping that we can organize a concert. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my brother Phil. I heard from Rich today that everyone had a great time at Gaby's, celebrating your birthday. Mom, I got your birthday message and wishes. Love you! Comments
