Funny that the timing with my own little injury occurred so close to a crew members own illness. I was going to jump over the cap rail of our boat and took a spill onto the dock and into the water. I can only imagine what it must've looked like! Luckily, no real harm was done except a nice bruise on me bum and a cut above my eye brow. Quick trip to the bathroom, a little anti biotic ointment and I'll be good as new.
Our last week in Lanzarote, Canary Islands has been really cool. We did a whirlwind tour of a few of the tourist areas of the island. It's such a small place, I think if we'd spent one more day as tourists, we would have seen absolutely everything. I think the thing people enjoyed most about the tourism was seeing the national park which used has recently extinct volcanoes (1800s). Having spent five years in Hawaii, lava is old hat to me, but it was really neat to see everyone's reaction to the desolation of a newly born volcanic island.
Well, we're rippin' along here at eight knots, and I have the predawn and dawn watch this morning so I'll be shovin' off to sleep here.
To my family: I'm sorry I didn't get to call you guys on Thanksgiving, but we already had it right?! And to Alison: you're in my thoughts and dreams.
