Our last journey out to sea! E-mail

Well here it is almost the end of November, we just left Lanzarote, and have been to sea for 2 days now. We had a wonderful time there and were lucky enough to all get out and explore the island one day. We all just squeezed in for the last tour at the national park, where a very skilled driver took us up and around small roads winding up and through large rock formations from the volcanoes. Afterwards we jumped back into our rental cars and drove to the northern part of the island to see an amazing sunset and dark outlines of the other islands in the distance. It was breath taking and we managed to grab another tourist enjoying the sites to take our picture. We also had some dinner recommendations that we followed up on; this place really hit the spot. I enjoyed some great local fish and potatoes with a chocolate mousse to top it all off. Now we are back at sea and this is going to be our longest journey without seeing land. We have lots of things to do before we get to our final destination. We started off by celebrating American Thanksgiving, the first day at sea wasn't the best day for so much food but I kept medicated and of course stuffed myself full. And to my luck I was the next on watch while others got to sit and let their food digest. I give props to the cooks though; we all chipped in and made it a dinner to remember. We, the students, are working hard on understanding celestial navigation and getting lots of reading finished in books such as Black Jacks, A long way gone; Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, A Dirty War in West Africa and History on Trial. Having class everyday with book presentations with students and crew partnered together. This week the students are going to start running the watches, we have lots on our shoulders right now but we are all doing really well and definitely going to have lots to be proud of once we reach Sierra Leone. Class time, will definitely be writing more often now since time is getting short. Bye

Hey Hale,
As mom said John and I are in the process to buying a house. We put in an offer and got it, so we are just waiting to do the home inspection and if everything goes well with that then we are good to goand will be moving in December 14th....I am so excited....it is nice and needs a few cosmetic things, new appliances, curtains...you know little touches. Owen is getting so big. He is 2 months today and right now he is asleep in his swing. I will send you some pics of him and the house to your email....so check it when you get the chance. I think my phone number should stay the same, but if not i will email you the new one....I can't wait to decorate and get everything unpacked. Christmas is gonna be nice, with everyone together and all the usual traditions....Owen and I will be there for 9 or 10 days...John will be goign back either late Christmas Day or early boxing day, as he is working overtime that week...Can't wait for you to get home...Owen is waiting for his Auntie Haley. I call Nina Auntie Bean....Anyway miss ya and see you soon....

Hello Dearest Haley

Just a short note to say hello. Your Dad and I went to Halifax on Saturday to see all. Everyone is fine. I am getting my time in with Owen before you get home,as I proably won't get to hold when you get home. This is what Nina thinks anyway.
Michelle and John are in the process of buying a house in Sackville. We went to see it yesterday and its pretty nice. Michelle is so excited it's crazy. You know curtains, applicances, and the decorating scene. The house is pretty big, on the main floor is the kitchen ,living room and dining room. Upstairs is 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The basement is finished there is a laundry room and two other rooms which is great.
I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet but have a good idea what I will be shopping for, so I got to start soon.
Your father and I are looking forward to having all our children home for christmas.
Angie, lawrence, Harley, Seth and Seth's girlfriend will be home for the holidays also. So as it stands now all the Cox crew will be around.
Geuss what? Jeffery shortliffe is moving into the house next to us...and his girlfriend (lol)
Well I better get back to work ...Keep the blogs coming we enjoy them all.

Love Mommy
