We are back at sea! E-mail

I have been anticipating our departure from Cascais for some time now. Not to say that Cascais wasn't amazing, because it is a really beautiful spot, the people were very welcoming and you could take the train right into Lisbon for 1.60 euro and 38 minutes of your time.  But there are so many more places I want to see and looking at the date our trip is quickly coming to an end, it's hard to believe that it was 3 months ago when I hopped on the plane to Liverpool and started this adventure.

Today is our first full day back sailing and also first day sailing with Captain Eliza. I was on watch from 11pm - 3am last night, deciding to sleep through breakfast, to wake at 9:30 to of course another sunny day.  I'm hoping the weather is going to stay nice throughout the rest of the trip; though warnings have been posted about swarms of Locusts south and southeast of the Spanish coasts, which is a bit on the scary side and right about then I could do with the rougher waters.

Before we left the dock we started going over more navigation which is actually pretty exciting and fun if you get your calculations right. For the rest of the trip we are not going to be using our GPS and just traditional navigation, and calculation the miles we've gone through water using the Taff rail and logging it on the hour along with our hourly boat checks. So lots going on over here and I'll keep the blogs coming.

Dearest Haley
We have read over and over again your emails messages home. You are having a once in a lifetime experience and seem to be enjoying every minute of it. Having an opportunity to learn navigation and how important navigation is to your voyage is a valuable part of your education.
Take part in every aspect of the business of running a ship, learn something everyday and your knowledge and self confidence will always be with you.
The picture of you at the rail of the boat was great, we were glad to see you smiling and happy.

Hi Haley
I'm glad to hear that you are back at sea and the weather is nice. We really miss your phone calls.
Dad and Grandad are on there way into Auger Lake today to begin tearing down the old camp. Your father keeps saying he has to have a camp to take Owen to. Just like we did with you guys.
Anyway it should be lots of stories to tell when they get home. Grandad built some kind of boat to take supplies in as he claims its easier to go by water. So they will take everything down Long Lake and ito Auger Lake.
Dad isn't going out West hunting as Uncle Billy is on his way to Singapore, right now he is in Guam, the ship is having engine problems. He hopes to be home by the first of December.
Everyone in Halifax is great, I really enjoyed having Michelle and Owen home last week. I can't wait for you to see him, he is so lovely.
We all miss you and look forward to all your blogs. Keep up the great work!

Love from All
