My Birthday! E-mail

My birthday in Portugal was very special to me.  This was my first time spending my birthday away from my friends and family and outside the country.  I had the birthday of a lifetime.  I did not do much just went out with some of my new friends on my watch and relaxed.  The cook made me a delicious meal of spaghetti and chocolate cake with icing on top. Being home is special, don't get me wrong, but everyone on the ship made me feel like I was home. I really do appreciate everyone for that. Along with that the day after my born day we went to Largos which is a city in Portugal. It was the students along with the crew.  We were there for two days Monday and Tuesday. The historical sites and buildings there were very interesting.  We learned many things from professor and a young lady named Sylvania.  She is very knowledgeable about Portuguese history and is very down to earth.  So, I just want to thank her for all that she has done to enhance our knowledge and experience. I also want the professor to know that without him I do not know where I would be right now academic wise and personal wise.  So, Overall I am having a wonderful experience but can't wait to see my friends and family.  I love you all and I will see you soon!!!!

Hope you got my Thanksgiving e-mail. How was it being at sea for Thanksgiving? We missed you at the table and felt strange not having you there. We decided to cook a chicken since no one eats the turkey but me and Grandma. Well after much preparation, stuffing and cooking....the chicken was so tough we thoght is might be rooster...lol. Thank God for the ham...it saved the dinner...How are the islands? Take pictures!!!

Hope all is well. We're real proud of you. I wasn't sure if we could contact you by e-mail. I'm glad that I checked. I know that it may be tuff with all the Holidays coming, but try to always look for the good. Your making a part of History. Something that will be here after were all dead and gone home to be with God. This is a remarkable accomplishment. Looking forward to your next journal letter on the site.
